Overdraft Protection & Courtesy Pay
CapEd offers Overdraft Protection and Courtesy Pay options if you write a check or make a debit card purchase and you don't have funds to cover the transaction.
Overdraft Protection allows you to link your CapEd savings account to prevent overdrafts by automatically transferring funds to your checking account. There is no charge as long as funds are available to cover the transaction. You can also apply for an Overdraft Protection Line of Credit. The line of credit is subject to fees and interest, and is subject to credit approval.
Courtesy Pay allows you to overdraw your account up to the disclosed limit for a $27 fee per item. To qualify, you must be at least 18 years old and have an active checking account in good standing. CapEd offers two coverage options – Standard Courtesy Pay and Extended Courtesy Pay.
Standard Courtesy Pay
Standard Courtesy Pay covers overdrafts caused by:
- Writing a check, an ACH transaction, or recurring debit card transaction
- Bill Pay transactions
Extended Courtesy Pay
Extended Courtesy Pay requires your consent. This extended privilege covers overdrafts caused by:
- All items listed for Standard Courtesy Pay
- Everyday debit card transactions
