Overdraft Protection & Courtesy Pay
CapEd offers Overdraft Protection and Courtesy Pay options if you write a check, make a debit card purchase, or set up an automatic withdrawal and you don't have funds to cover the transaction.
Overdraft Protection
Overdraft Protection allows you to link your CapEd checking account to your savings account or line of credit to prevent declines or insufficient fund fees by automatically transferring funds to your checking account. You can apply online or in person for a Line of Credit, which is subject to credit approval, fees, and interest.
Courtesy Pay
Courtesy Pay allows you to overdraw your account for a $27 fee per overdraft. To qualify, you must be at least 18 years old and have an active checking account in good standing. CapEd offers two coverage options – Standard Courtesy Pay and Extended Courtesy Pay.
Standard Courtesy Pay
Standard Courtesy Pay covers overdrafts caused by:
- Checks, automatic withdrawals, Bill Pay transactions, and recurring debit card transactions
If you wish to opt out of Standard Courtesy Pay, contact (208) 884-0150 or (800) 223-7283, or you can send us an email.
Extended Courtesy Pay
Extended Courtesy Pay requires your consent. This extended privilege covers overdrafts caused by:
- All items listed for Standard Courtesy Pay, and
- Everyday debit card transactions
If you would like to opt in to Extended Coverage for future transactions, log in to eBanking, go to the Accounts tab, click the Courtesy Pay tab, then set your account(s) to YES. You can also contact us at (208) 884-0150 or (800) 223-7283, or you can send us an email at overdraft@capedcu.com.
