If you would like to add a beneficiary to one of your accounts at CapEd Credit Union, you have a few options available. Our helpful staff can assist with the process both in-person or virtually.

What is a Beneficiary?

A beneficiary is a person or Trust who is designated to receive the funds in an account if the owner of the account passes away. If an account has both a living joint owner and a beneficiary, the funds will belong to the join owner(s) and not the beneficiary.

What Accounts Can I Add a Beneficiary To?

You can add a beneficiary to any personal account. We cannot add a beneficiary to the following account types: business accounts, estate accounts, HELOC checking accounts, ESCROW accounts, or safe deposit boxes.

How Do I Add a Beneficiary to My Account?

Only the primary owner of the account can add a beneficiary. You can request they be added either in-person or remotely.

If You Would Like to Add a Beneficiary In-Person

You can visit any of our branch locations to have the staff assist you in adding a beneficiary to your account.

If You Would Like to Add a Beneficiary Remotely

If you would like to add a beneficiary but don't want to go into a branch location, you can contact us online or call us at (208)884-0150 to speak to a representative who can help with the process.
