Idaho Middle and High School students compete in video production contest.
Boise, ID, April 2024 – CapEd Credit Union held its annual Movie Trailer Contest for the 14th consecutive year. The contest invites middle and high school students to show off their video production skills and creative talent. They compete against each other for prize money, an Adobe Creative Cloud software license, and bragging rights for the title of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place winner. Students submitted a movie trailer-style video no more than three minutes long. Local industry experts judged over 50 entries. The panel of judges narrowed the entries to the top ten for middle and high school contestants.
On April 3rd, CapEd held an award ceremony for students and their families at Overland Park Cinemas. Students, friends, and family members grabbed their popcorn and drinks, snapped photos, and then took their seats in the theater. The top ten videos from the middle and high school categories were shared on the big screen for everyone to enjoy. After viewing each category, the top three videos were announced, and students were presented with their giant prize check. Each winner also received a one-year Adobe Creative Cloud subscription to help them continue learning and producing amazing videos.

The students truly impress and inspire each year. The MC for the evening, Mellisa Paul from KTVB, said, " There’s a bright future for all of you. Keep doing what you’re doing,” to all the students who attended the ceremony. Todd Christensen, CapEd CMO, commented, “It is amazing to see the talent and skills from area middle and high school students. It is fun to gather with them, their friends and family, to see their work on the large screen.” He continued, “CapEd is pleased to provide this opportunity for students to learn and develop their talents.
